Good optics on the 3.5X, sharp in the centre. My only issue is I'm tall, and with a 320 to 420 mm working distance I have to drop the chair lower than I'm used to.

Dental lab technician. For checking splints and fits it's more than enough. Half brightness is what I use most.

Huge difference in endo

I do a lot of endodontics and finding the MB2 canal stopped being guesswork. I went with the 3.5X and don't regret it, though your eyes need a couple of days to settle in.

Optics are great, cable takes getting used to

No complaints at all about sharpness or the light. The only thing is the battery cable catches on the chair back if I don't clip it properly to my pocket. Minor, but worth mentioning.

My back thanks me

I'm a hygienist and I used to spend the whole day hunched over hunting for subgingival calculus. With the working distance on these I stay upright and finish the day without the usual lower back ache. Wish I'd bought them sooner.

Margins look completely different

I work in a lab, mostly crowns and bridges. With the magnification I catch the margin and the little porosities that used to slip past me until final polishing. The head light really helps at the bench, which is always in shadow.

Got the kit and use both

I couldn't decide between 2.5X and 3.5X so I ordered the full kit. In practice I use the 2.5X for check-ups and general restorative work and switch to the 3.5X for fine detail. Swapping the module takes seconds.

Battery lasts a shift, connector is dated

I run it on medium and it comfortably covers a full day without a charge. I'm knocking off one star only because the charger isn't USB-C, so I have to remember to pack that one specific adapter when I work off-site.

Works fine over my glasses

I wear prescription glasses and that was my main worry before ordering. It sits over them without pinching and with the tilt adjustment I got a single, comfortable image. It took me about three days to stop feeling dizzy, now I don't think about it.

My first pair, as a student

I'm in my fourth year and I was the only one in my group without loupes. The difference in restorative practicals showed up immediately, my supervisor mentioned it before I said anything. For a first pair the 2.5X felt like the sensible choice.

Extremely lightweight

Was concerned about the weight but it is remarkably light. The 3W LED light illuminates the tooth clearly without shadows. Great buy.

Optics deliver, the frame needs care

The lenses and the light are fine for what I wanted. What doesn't convince me is the frame: if I handle it a lot putting it on and off, the adjustment screws work loose and I retighten them every two or three weeks. Not a dealbreaker, but I expected something sturdier.

Using it in veterinary dentistry

I treat small patients, cats and toy breeds, where every millimetre counts. The mix of magnification and its own light lets me see the gum line without relying on the surgical lamp, which is always pointing the wrong way.

Useful beyond the dental chair

I bought it with minor surgery in mind and I use it for suturing and removing foreign bodies. Seeing the stitch at this magnification, with light that goes where I look, makes the work come out cleaner and faster.

Sharp in the centre, softer at the rim

The middle of the field is very crisp and that's where I work, so in practice it doesn't bother me. Still worth knowing: right at the edge of the circle the image softens a little. At 3.5X that's expected and you learn to frame around it.

Eight months of daily use and still going

Updating my review after almost eight months. I wipe it down between patients and neither the frame nor the lenses have suffered for it. The battery still gives me what it did in month one. It holds up to real practice use.
